Mesob Tower to step up nation’s tourism drive****************************************

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Hotel and Tourism Training Institute disclosed that it would provide competent and sufficient human resource to the tourism industry upon the realization of the upcoming multifaceted Mesob Tower project.Institute Deputy Director General Gezahegn Abate told The Ethiopian Herald that the realization of the upcoming project would enable the institute to solve problems related to shortage of training rooms, student dormitories and model hotels that have been major hindrances to improve the knowledge of trainees with practical experiment.The Mesob Tower project that will be constructed under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MoCT) will have hotels, malls, training, dormitory and management rooms, and museums, among others. It will also have gardens, parking lots, and athletic field and so on, Gezahegn said.Accordingly, the project will play significant role to advance the services of the institute having important training facilities, he noted.“We want to make the [catering] training to the students 70 percent practical and faced refusal from various hotels in this regard. However the construction of the new project would play significant role in curbing such hindrances as it enable the institute to have its own model hotel”.The upcoming project will also have model hotel which will enable the institute to generate income through offering services with trained waiters/waitresses, he stated.Click the link to read more
